Brigitte Hahn (VIVIANE)

The soprano Brigitte Hahn has a broad spectrum of operatic roles, ranging from Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, through Italian roles such as Desdemona, to Isolde and Brünnhilde.

Brigitte Hahn, born in Duisburg, studied singing at the Colleges of Music in Dortmund and Düsseldorf. Her first permanent engagements, from 1990 to 1997, took her to Coburg and Mannheim. Already during this time, she appeared as a guest at the opera houses in Stuttgart, Hanover, Cologne, Karlsruhe, Dresden, Basel, Barcelona and Helsinki in the roles of Queen of the Night, Donna Anna and Rosalinde.

Since 1997, she has worked closely with the Staatsoper Hamburg, where she has celebrated considerable successes in the major roles of the soprano repertoire. In recent years, Brigitte Hahn has appeared as a guest at leading opera houses throughout  Europe, from Amsterdam (De Nederlandse Oper), Barcelona (Gran Teatre del Liceu), Milan (La Scala), Munich (Staatsoper), Berlin (Staatsoper, Deutsche Oper) and Dresden (Semper Opera) to Paris (Opéra Bastille), the Helsinki National Opera, the Teatro Verdi Trieste, the Vienna State Opera and the Zurich Opera.

Several Mozart roles, Elsa, Violetta, the Feldmarschallin in Der Rosenkavalier and Haitang in Zemlinsky's Der Kreidekreis are just a few examples of her broad spectrum of operatic roles.

Brigitte Hahn has performed together with such well known conductors as Ingo Metzmacher, Armin Jordan, Peter Schneider, Hartmut Haenchen, Marc Minkowski, Fabio Luisi, Adam Fischer, Giuliano Carella, Stefano Ranzani, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Jesús López Cobos and Marek Janowski.

Since the 2006-2007 season, the soprano has been a member of the ensemble of the Staatsoper Hannover, where she has sung such roles as Desdemona, Elisabeth (Tannhäuser) and Elisabetta (Don Carlos). At the Staatsoper Hannover, Brigitte Hahn portrays the roles of Cio-Cio-San (Madame Butterfly) and Elettra (Idomeneo) and has also sung the title role in Puccini's Turandot.

The versatile soprano has increasingly developed in recent years to a youthful dramatic soprano and, in the coming seasons, will extend her operatic spectrum to include dramatic and highly dramatic roles.
