Anna Gabler (VIVIANE)

Anna Gabler, soprano, acquired her vocal training under Jan-Hendrik Rootering at the Music Academy (Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, her home town; here, too, she gained proficiency in Lied singing in the master-class course of Helmut Deutsch and Fritz Schwinghammer.

Already during her last eighteen months at the Munich Music Academy, she was a member of the Junges Ensemble at the Bavarian State Opera. Thereafter, her first four-year engagement took her to the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf-Duisburg. Another three years followed at the Staatstheater Nürnberg. Here, notably, she created the role of Miranda in the world premiere of Luca Lombardi's "Prospero" and, in her final season 2007/08, sang her own role debut as Elsa in "Lohengrin". The Bavarian State Opera in Munich, too, has seen her back as a guest in parts such as Erste Dame in "Die Zauberflöte" under Ivor Bolton, or as Gretel in "Hänsel und Gretel" under Fabio Luisi. As Gretel also, she made her debut at the Semperoper in Dresden in the Christmas season 2006/2007.

In the Semperoper's current 2008/2009 season, she has returned both in the role of Agathe in "Der Freischütz" and, to high acclaim, as The Daughter in Dresden's new production of Paul Hindemith's "Cardillac", again under Fabio Luisi. Her repertoire further comprises, for instance, Nedda ("I pagliacci"), Mimì ("La Bohème" ), Micaëla ("Carmen"), Hanna Glawari ("The Merry Widow"), but also Freia ("Das Rheingold") and Gutrune ("Die Götterdämmerung"). In "Die Walküre", she is one of the valkyries in the current Ring production in Bayreuth.
